Groove Armada release Superstylin’ remix as part of 25th anniversary series

Groove Armada have unveiled a new remix of their classic 2001 track Superstylin‘, one of a series of remixes to mark the group’s 25th anniversary.

Producer Dance System, formerly known as L-Vis 1990 and co-founder of the Night Slugs label, delivers a tough house rework of the track, which was originally released as the first single from Groove Armada’s third studio album, Goodbye Country (Hello Nightclub). You can download/stream it here.

Commenting on the remix, Dance System, aka Brighton-based James Connolly, said, “Superstylin’ was such a massive tune for me when it came out. I’ll never forget Midfield General playing it at the Big Beach Boutique in Brighton 20 years ago, it was such a moment for me.

“It’s wild to be remixing it all these years later; getting under the bonnet of such a classic and seeing how it was constructed was so surreal. I really tried to stay true to the original’s energy, dubbing it out and making work on the dancefloor for 2022.”

The release follows on from a Logic1000 rework of My Friend, and forms part of a series to mark the 25th year since Groove Armada release debut single At The River.

The release also follows on from Groove Armada’s sold-out UK tour, their final full live tour, which saw them take in venues such as Glasgow’s Barrowlands, Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse and London’s iconic Brixton Academy, and saw them joined by influential artists such as Norman Jay MBE and Ewan McVicar.
