Techno titan Umek gives Quench’s early 90s classic ‘Dreams’ an update

Dreams, the 1993 hard trance classic by Quench, aka Australian producer CJ Dolan, has been brought bang up to date with a storming new rework from techno legend Umek.

Released on Vicious Recordings, the release includes five different versions of the track, including edits by Australian artists MaRLo and Melbourne duo The Journey, as well as an extended mix by original producer CJ Dolan. You can buy it online here.

Umek’s version originally started life as an unofficial bootleg edit, and was released on his own label, 1605, in 2019. 909originals recently caught up with the Slovenian maestro, you can find that interview here.

The series of reworks is a firm reminder that Dreams was one of the most dominant and endearing tracks in rave history.

Australia-based Vicious Recordings celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, having been founded in 1991.
