Soulwax mark 50th release on DEEWEE with ‘Foundations’ compilation
Soulwax’s David and Stephen Dewaele are marking the 50th release on their DEEWEE label with the release of Foundations, a compilation album featuring 27 tracks from the label’s history.
Released on 7 May in both triple LP and 2CD physical editions, the compilation features tracks that were recorded at the DEEWEE Studios in Ghent, and marks a new phase in the label to date, following the signing of a new joint venture with Because Music.

‘Throughout their many years of experience as Soulwax, 2manydjs and lately as DEEWEE masterminds, the Dewaele brothers have always been connectors,’ the official press release puts it.
‘This has never just been about finding people to remix or DJ with, it’s always gone deeper, and been about building something that will last for many more years to come.’
Ahead of the compilation’s release, the label has released a new single, Charlotte Adigéry’s Bear With Me (and I’ll stand bare before you), a track about both isolation and connection in these challenging times.
