A new immersive online rave experience promises to be a mixture of Human Traffic and Black Mirror’s Bandersnatch

Sasha, Altern-8, Yousef Alan Fitzpatrick, Crazy P Soundsystem, Âme and Eats Everything are among those signed up for a new interactive online rave experience, which is part Human Traffic and part Black Mirror’s Bandersnatch.

Developed by experiential agency Hyperactive, BBL CLB (pronounced Bubble Club) opens its virtual doors on Wednesday 10 February, and will encourage participants to work together on a mission to locate an online ‘underground rave’.

Participants are guided through a sequence of situations by a cast who either help or hinder the quest to uncover the secret BBL CLB location – once the location has been found (without, we suspect, the need for driving around the M25 for hours), they can enjoy live sets from a host of artists.

The concept has been described as a ‘shared experience, played out on screen for groups of friends remotely’ (recommended in groups of four or six) and is set to bring a new level of interactivity to DJ livestreaming.

According to Hyperactive’s Andrew Casher, Andrew Casher, “The BBL CLB is designed for those of us who miss the buzz of anticipation before a night out, the electricity and unity of the dancefloor, those madcap moments with our mates and of course the appreciation of dance music in all its guises.

“BBL CLB is about togetherness when we’re socially distanced and about supporting UK club culture which is so important to so many people both socially and professionally.”

Five shows are set to be featured each week, over a four-week period, kicking off on 10 February, with early bird tickets priced at £15 (€16.40).

With the second wave of coronavirus in full swing, this could serve as just the tonic to fill the time between now and our next opportunity to meet up on the dancefloor. Visit www.bblclb.com for more information.
