When we put the call out a few weeks back for your ultimate ‘Berlin clubbing story’, with a chance to win two tickets for HYTE’s 24-hour New Year’s Eve marathon in the German capital, we didn’t expect to uncover such debauchery… you should all be ashamed of yourselves (in a good way, of course).
Before we announce the winner, it’s worth reminding the rest of you that tickets are selling FAST for HYTE’s techno spectacular, which takes place at Berlin’s Funkhaus, and features an all-star lineup: Richie Hawtin, Helena Hauff, Maceo Plex, Ricardo Villalobos, Marco Carola, Loco Dice, ANNA, Solardo, Pan-Pot, Charlotte De Witte, Josh Wink, Nastia… need I say more..?
The theme for this year’s New Year’s Eve festivities is ‘Refuse, Resist, Rebel, Revolt’, and with the schedule for the event running non-stop from Tuesday, December 31 at 6pm to Wednesday, January 1 at 6pm, where else would you rather be to usher in a new decade?

Anyway, let’s get down to business. While we were impressed with some of your escapades – honourable mentions must go to the Scotsman who penned a new Catalan national anthem in the toilets at Tresor, and the poor sod who got trapped in the toilets at HYTE’s last New Year’s bash.
But the winning entry comes from a Mr Rob Grace, who certainly made the most of his solo trip to Berlin so far…
“After raving non-stop for 36 hours, having been invited to Watergate by Alan Fitzpatrick, trying to find my hostel was becoming rather difficult. I ended up being wheeled in a wheelbarrow, by a homeless guy, back to near my hostel. He was well chuffed at a €10 tip… both winning!”
Messy and charitable at the same time – well done Rob!
